Continuing Professional Development 

The Herts & Bucks Teaching School Alliance is comprised of schools, universities and local authority learning trusts with a track record for delivering accredited professional development to ensure the highest standards of learning and leadership within schools. 

Established patterns of Continuing Professional Development have resulted in outstanding completion rates for Newly Qualified Teachers who are frequently able to progress in their careers. Experience in delivering full Masters Courses and school-based modules has contributed to excellent classroom practice and teacher promotion. The NPQML and Olevi OTP, ITP and OTAP also display high uptake. Alliance members have delivered INSET at local, county and national level across different subject areas and related to aspects of teaching and learning. This on-going pattern of CPD is illustrated by three Headteachers within the Alliance acting as National Leaders of Education.

Building upon this success, all partner schools will undertake an audit to identify areas of strength and development to ensure the CPD programme delivered by the Alliance is relevant to the needs of the local area and makes best use of the expertise available.
