How to Teach 1 - 3 at Science GCSE

The content of the course includes exploring how to manage concepts and processes stipulated in the specification, how to plan teaching accordingly and how to make effective use of feedback and assessment.
You will be able to:
• explore the context and constraints applying to students targeted to attain grades 1 to 3 in GCSE Science
• develop an approach to teaching that will secure good progress and appropriate outcomes for these students
• consider the role of assessment and feedback in supporting progress to better outcomes
Within many mainstream secondary schools there are likely to be students for whom appropriate outcomes at the end of Key Stage 4 in science are in the range of GCSE grades 1 to 3.
This course is designed to address needs, provision and practice for these students, assuming that they are following and being assessed on a GCSE course.
