July Joint Inset
For the third year running, the TSA hosted a joint Inset for six secondary schools across the sites of Parmiter’s School and St Michael’s RC High School. The host schools were joined by Chalfont Community College, Francis Combe Academy, Queens’ School and St Clement Danes. 24 seminars were delivered by a range of staff from the six schools with a core focus on Key Stage 3.
This input was supplemented by headline sessions for all delegates from Professor Angela McFarlan from the College of Teachers and Kerry Godsman, the Lead for Primary English Teaching and Learning at Herts for Learning. The two sessions provided a valuable mix of national developments alongside the more immediate details as to what secondary schools could expect in the near future from children completing the revised KS2 curriculum. Having completed this programme prior to lunch, staff returned to their home schools for curriculum based CPD in the afternoon. Feedback from those attending was highly positive about all aspects of the day.
The TSA wishes to express thanks to the many staff for their excellent contribution through the seminars and to note our appreciation for Angela and Kerry for taking the time to speak to us. Planning will start again this term for the 2017 event on Monday 3rd July.
