Kickstart Your 5 Year Plan!

Mastery of Science: Build your 5-year plan workshop

Location: Watford Grammar School for Boys, Rickmansworth Rd, Watford WD18 7JL

Date: Monday 2nd July 2018

Time: 9.30 – 3.30pm

Price: Early bird £169 until 27th April then £199 after that.

Do you need to improve your curriculum, or join KS3 and 4 into a 5-year plan? Arguably the most important change you can make is to reshape your curriculum around key concepts and scientific thinking skills  - the essential content that opens up higher grades at GCSE. Doing this gains you time to teach concepts in depth so that more students can succeed, and helps students remember the facts better by connecting them to bigger ideas.

How do you build a 5-year plan? And what changes to teaching and assessment are needed?

Kickstart your 5-year plan is designed to help you implement your own big ideas curriculum, based on the framework and principles we have developed (called Blueprint). It's a combination of a highly practical workshop aimed at KS3/4 teachers or heads of department, plus all the teaching and assessment materials for you to pilot one Year 7 concept.

The workshop is facilitated by Tony Sherborne and the Mastery Science team, who designed the KS3 Science Syllabus for AQA.

Book now, pay later.

Get the early-bird price by registering your place at a workshop now. You can choose 'pay later' at checkout, or pay now. You can also cancel your booking, without charge, anytime until 28 days before the event (see below for booking details).

Women in Leadership : Be the Change

Brooke Weston TSA The Women Leading in Education Coaching Pledge is already making a difference to hundreds of aspiring female leaders.  Our goal is to expand the pool of willing, trained coaches even further. The more coaches we have, the more women can be empowered to gain the leadership roles they deserve.  Here's how we can achieve this goal together: Sign up to be a coach and encourage others to do so. Anyone can be a coach (male, female, teacher, leader, support staff, governors, trustees - any phase, any level of experience) so please spread the word far and wide:   Join our webinar on Monday 16th July at 7pm. The webinar will be a chance for coaches, coachees and anyone interested to hear all about the pledge, share success stories and ask any questions. The link will be posted on the Brooke Weston TSA website from Monday 9th July.  You can access the web page here.  You don't need to sign up for the webinar, just join us and ask questions via Twitter using the hashtag #coachingpledge. Please spread the word.    Join the conversation on Twitter.  Follow @bwteachschool and let us know how the Coaching Pledge is making a difference in your school or alliance. Look out for a whole day of #coachingpledge chat on Monday 16th July.     Share the success. Fancy writing a guest blog about how coaching can make the difference? Just let us know. We will be publishing our own coaching blog later this month, written by guest blogger Carly Waterman.
