Different Qualification Outcomes

Qualified teacher Status (QTS)

This is a professional qualification awarded by the teachers’ professional body, the Teaching Regulation Agency. QTS is the only qualification that you need to be able to teach at a school in England. ALL our programmes include QTS.

To get QTS your teaching is judged against The Teachers’ Standards, available to view here and worth reading before your interview https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teachers-standards

Salaried programmes
At the end of the programme, successful trainees will be awarded School Direct Post Graduate (SDPG), which includes recommendation to the Department of Education for Qualified Teacher Status.

Unsalaried programmes
At the end of the programme, successful trainees will be awarded a Primary or Secondary PGCE, which includes recommendation to the Department of Education for Qualified Teacher Status.
